Don’t have enough items for a full-scale move, but too much for a suitcase? With the Curaçao Box, you can ship up to 1 m³ of goods from the Netherlands to Curaçao via sea freight for one fixed price. It’s the perfect solution for a small-scale move, relocating, heading to the island for your studies, or sending a package to family. You fill the box yourself; we handle the shipping and customs clearance, and you pick it up in Willemstad.

€299 – covers sea freight, customs clearance, and two weeks of free storage in Curaçao.

How it works, in 5 steps

Book your box online. Fill out the form and indicate your preferred date for dropping off the box at our warehouse in Nootdorp. We will confirm the date and send you an invoice, which must be paid before drop-off.
Fill the box. Take the box home to pack it, or pack it right here at our warehouse. You will receive a packing list via email—simply fill it out once you know what’s going inside.
Drop off the box. Bring the packed box and the completed packing list to our Nootdorp location at the scheduled time. Please ensure your invoice has been paid by this point.
Shipping and customs clearance. Your box will be included in the next available container bound for Curaçao, where our local partner will handle the customs clearance process.
Pick up your box. You will be notified as soon as your box is ready for collection in Willemstad. You then have two weeks to pick it up.

Not included: import duties and sales tax in Curaçao (see below), storage beyond the initial two-week period, home delivery in Curaçao, and insurance. Insurance is available for a one-time fee of €75, covering a value of up to €2,500.

The box

You will receive the box in a folded state. Please ensure you bring a vehicle large enough to transport it, or pack your items at our warehouse.
Can’t fit everything into the box? Ask about an additional 0.5 m³ box—available for an extra charge (price upon request).

Departure and delivery time

Once we have received your packed box and your payment, we will ship your “Curaçao Box” via the next available container. The transit time is approximately 3 to 4 weeks. This is followed by the customs clearance process, after which you will be notified that your box is ready for collection.

Prohibited items

Drugs, weapons, and ammunition
Aerosol cans, gas cylinders, fuel, paints and solvents, lighters, matches, and fireworks
Loose lithium batteries and power banks
Plants, seeds, and soil; perishable food items, meat, and dairy products
Cash and negotiable financial instruments

Alcohol, tobacco, and medication may only be included in small, personal quantities. If you are unsure, please contact us before you begin packing.

Customs: Are you moving or not?

If you are moving to Curaçao, your belongings are classified as “household goods.” You will not have to pay import duties, provided that you have owned and used these items for at least six months. You will need to provide your passport, proof of your previous residential address, and your registration in Curaçao. Our partner will send you the necessary forms.

You send items to someone in Curaçao—for example, gifts for family. Beyond a small exemption threshold, the recipient will be required to pay import duties and 9% sales tax based on the value of the contents. The exact amount depends on the items in the box; therefore, please ensure you accurately declare the value on the packing list.

Collection in Curaçao

You can collect your box from our partner, Caribbean Moving Services (CMS), located at Caracasbaaiweg 328, Willemstad. They are open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00. You have two weeks from the date of customs clearance to collect your items; after this period, storage fees will apply.

Our offer is based on the current exchange rates. If there are extreme changes (> 2.5% in either direction) in the applicable exchange rates, we reserve the right to adjust the amounts in our offer accordingly. This will always be discussed with you in advance. Our rates are based on the current freight rates and (fuel) surcharges. Unfortunately, if there are extreme changes in these costs, the quoted rates will be adjusted accordingly. Changes to these costs are generally known and are final on the day of departure. The Curaçao Box is shipped to Curaçao. Any customs costs, such as import duties and taxes, are not included in the price and are payable by the recipient. If the customs bill turns out higher than expected, for example because of the value or the nature of the goods, you are responsible for these costs.
